Norton SystemWorks 설치후 윈도우 시작을 할수없는 경우

Cannot start Windows after installing Norton SystemWorks in Windows XP/2000

Situation:
You installed Norton SystemWorks under Windows XP/2000. When you restart the computer, you see a blue screen and then the computer restarts. You cannot start Windows because the computer automatically restarts before displaying the Windows desktop.

Solution:
This problem is caused by a conflict between one of the Norton SystemWorks services or driver files and another program on the computer.

To resolve the problem, disable Norton UnErase or change the startup type for the Norton SystemWorks services from automatic to manual. These steps prevent the Norton SystemWorks services from loading automatically at startup. Because the services do not load at the Windows startup, the computer does not have a conflict between the Norton SystemWorks services and other programs on the computer, and Windows starts successfully.

One of the following procedures may fix the problem.

UnErase를 비활성화 시킨다 

  1. 윈도우를 안전모드로 부팅합니다.

  2. Norton Protection icon 을 우클릭하여 속성을 선택하세요.
  3. Norton Protection t탭을 선택합니다.
  4. Enable Norton Protection 체크해제합니다.


Speed Disck 서비스를 자동에서 수동시작으로 바꿉니다.

  1. 윈도우를 안전모드로 부팅합니다.

  2. 서비스 대화창을 엽니다. 따라하세요:
    • 윈도우XP에서, 시작->제어판->관리도구->서비스
    • 윈도우 2000/NT에서, 시작->설정->제어판, 해당 버전에 맞게 따라하세요.
      • 윈도우 2000, 관리도구->서비스
      • 윈도우 NT, 서비스
  3. 다음의 서비스를 각각 선택하여, 속성에서 시작방식을 자동에서 수동으로 바꾼후 확인을 클릭합니다
    • Norton Program Scheduler
    • Norton UnErase Protection
    • Speed Disk service
    • NAV Alert
    • NAV Auto-Protect
    • Script Blocking Service
  4. 서비스 대화창을 닫습니다.

이 방법으로 윈도우를 정상적으로 시작할 수 있습니다.

One way of finding the file or service that may be causing the problem is to reconfigure Windows so that Windows does not automatically restart the computer when a stop error occurs. Stop errors, which are displayed on a blue screen, sometimes display the name of the file that is causing the problem or the name of the file that is affected by the problem. If the problem file is a driver or service for a hardware device such as a video card or scanner, updating the problem file to a newer version is likely to resolve the problem so that you can reconfigure the Norton SystemWorks services to start automatically.
